Ebury, one of the fastest growing fintechs for corporate global transaction services, today announced the opening of a second office in the UK. Following on from the success of the London headquarters, Ebury sought to expand its regional growth and has chosen Manchester, at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.

E
bury plans to recruit 100 staff for Manchester over the coming 18 months to build one of their most important offices in Europe supporting corporates with innovative international banking solutions such as trade finance and FX, aimed at helping SMEs to trade globally.

The new office will be headed by Richard Baigent who has extensive experience in corporate banking. He joins Ebury after a long career at HSBC as UK Head of Corporate Mid-Market Growth, which covered corporate FX and risk management. Other roles at HSBC included: Head of US Corporate Growth in New York and Head of Treasury in Jersey. Richard takes the role of Head of Regional Sales UK and will be responsible for driving the business outside of London. He will work closely with the UK Managing Director, Paolo Giabardo.

“Ebury is an organisation with a can-do attitude, where it’s possible to be dynamic and make things happen quickly and successfully. Opening an office in Manchester allows us to recruit from a pool of graduate talent eager to contribute to the success of Ebury, and be closer to our client base outside of our London headquarters,” states Richard.

“It is a very exciting time for Ebury and opening an office in another major city is a key factor in our expansion. We have managed to get the right people in the right locations who are keen and understand the growth aspects of our company. I am delighted to welcome Richard – his experience is unmatched and he will propel our regional growth aspirations from the Manchester office to great success,” adds Paolo.
